All about YarnIt just doesn't help matters that All About Yarn is on the neglected side of a neglected strip mall (it has JoAnn Fabrics as the anchor). It seems like a secret, really. Which is too bad, because AAY has a wide range of yarns, needles, and anything else you might need for a knitting or crochet project. They probably have the best selection of Encore yarn anywhere in the city. While no one is going to be wowed by their sock yarn selection, they do have some, as well as reinforcement yarn. They stock Brown Sheep and a wide range of yarns for every budget. No Manos though.

Wonderful store. Cone in and sit and knit!!!! Lots of yarn and thousands of patterns. Hard to find but worth looking for. You will love the personal interest these people take in you.

The stock has changed some since this post was written. You'll still find the best selection of Encore in town (there's a whole wall of it in just about every color. But you'll also find MALABRIGO, MADELINETOSH, and tons of other great yarns in all weights and colors.

And if sock yarn is what you want, the center of the store has THREE KIOSKS of sock yarn, mostly hand-dyed, as well as a separate cupboard of Opal, Austermann, Tofutsies, Sockotta and such.

Yes, it's sort of hard to find, but it's definitely got a lot going for it. And if you are a knitter who likes an occasional spray of novelty yarn for projects, there's still quite a big selection -- and it's all at 60% off the original price. Most of these yarns have been discontinued, so when they're gone, they're gone.

Oh, and did I mention that this store has more samples of sweaters than any store in town? Silly me, how could I forget that! :)

Disclaimer: I did work there part-time and I still teach there, but everything I just wrote is true. Come see for yourself!
