Is Terroir closed? Or just sleeping?

The other day, I reported that Terroir was still open. But perhaps I spoke too soon.

In spite of much talk of Stein's previous and recent plagarism on portlandfood.org and portlandfoodanddrink.com, it really hadn't hit the print media. Until yesterday, when the Willamette Week made Stu Stein the Rogue of the Week.

By the sounds of things, national press are now interested in the story, according to Food Dude.

Anyhow last night, I walked by at about 5pm and Terroir was dark. That's strange as Wednesdays are a day that Terroir is open... the only weekday they're not open is Monday, so I walk by them almost every evening on my way home.

Cuisine Bonne Femme also noticed them dark.

At 7:45pm - still dark.

This morning when I stood at the bus stop right outside Terroir, there was no sign of any activity inside. Maria, Stein's "daily cleaner and prep cook" was nowhere to be seen. I usually do see her in the mornings.

So what does this mean? Who knows. It's just... curious.
