Usually I would simply not mention convoluted websites, but the information here is very useful. The BEEHIVE (www.theBeehive.org/) is "a resource to gain information about the things that matter most in [our] lives - money, health, jobs, school and family." There is a Portland section which, unfortunately, I cannot directly link to. Users of the Beehive will find helpful local information on everything from filing taxes to writing a resume and getting a better job. Parents can search for health clinics in their neighborhood and quality childcare. Kids can find help with their homework. Or hopefully find these things. Good info though.
