There was no dog there last time I went, but there was a humorously insane old couple hanging out by the bar talking about beers they used to drink before prohibition. They were an interesting bit of living history to say the least...
What was your take on the beers other than "not being crazy" about them? I thought the "Humulus Maximus" Pale they served me was pretty good, but the stout struck me as a bit thin and the ESB wasn't really my thing. MAybe it's got too much of that wierd "stale tasting" british malt or something, I don't know.
BTW, have you heard about the meeting of the Portland Bloggers? I think the idea started on Bridger's Blog a while back and is now being discussed on the sudspundit site:
